Service Team Report for April, 2009:
 Date10-15/4/09
LocationAngel House Rehabilitation and Education Center in Jiang Nan District of Nanning, Guangxi
Number of Participants11
Our short term service team and the visiting group went to serve the "Angel House" from 10th to 15th of April. We visited many families. They were very poor and their homes were utterly destitute. Their situations made us feel very sad. They earned very little money and live a hard life. They could only wait for those good-hearted persons offering helping hands to assist their children to attend school. Thank God for the good weather under which we were able to bring the children to the park and played happily. We also had to thank our Lord for the smooth operation of all the other activities such as training, life-sharing sessions, worships and relationship establishment. The feeling of the team members expressed during the farewell party at the "Angel House" is summarised as follows :-

Wan:when we went to the park, we realized the difficulty of the parents in helping their children to walk step by step. When we played "bumper car", even though the children could not use their feet to control the cars, they could use their mouths to instruct us to drive. This made me know that although they had certain physical disabilities, they still possessed other abilities. They are loved by God !

Sim:Meeting the teachers, students and parents just likes meeting my old friends.

Kwan:During the service trip, I was physically exhausted. However, when I noticed a child, who could not even walk properly during my visit last year, ran so fast that I almost could not catch up with. This made me feel it's worthwhile and meaningful to be there even though it's so exhausted.

Ching:I have to thank God on behalf of the "Angel House" when I saw the construction of the new school building had been completed. I appreciate the effort given by the Headmaster, the teachers and the Chan' s couple of the Rainbow Missions.

Tak:To minimize the negative sentiment and work pressure of oneself, we need to reinforce the positive thinking so as to have a better and wonderful life.

Service Team Report for December, 2009
Service Team23- 30/12/2009
Visiting Group : 23-27/12/2009
LocationAngel House Rehabilitation and Education Center in Jiang Nan District of Nanning, Guangxi

Our short term service team and visiting group went to the "Angel House" separately during the period from 10th to 15th of December. There were altogether 24 participants. During the whole trip, we united as one and were in good health. Everyone in the team had got his/her own spiritual gain. The weather on the 24th of December was fine and both we and the children had enjoyed a wonderful and happy out-door activity. We visited many families there. They were very poor and their homes were simple and crude, with little furniture. Some of them even did not have a chair to sit on. This made us feel pity for them. We have got some photos of our service team taken in this trip to share with you, please browse the following website if you are interested : http://www.flickr.com/photos/rm_hk/。We have also summarized the feeling of our team members towards this trip as follows :-

Wai:Appreciate the effort and care given by everybody in the team. I always bear a burden towards children in the Mainland but I am worried if I would be able to take care of these extraordinary children. In visiting the "Angel House", I was glad to contact these children, to know and co-operate with other team members without any difficulty. During my stay in the "Angel House", I noticed feeding a child was not an easy task. This made me understand and feel the laboriousness of parents in taking care of their children !

Ching:The journey was too short. It was really hard to leave the children when I started to be familiar with them. It was very happy to play musical activities and make handicrafts with them. Teachers in the "Angel House" loved the children very much and they always hugged them.

Lo:This trip was much better than what I imagined before. I was ill prior to the trip but fortunately I was fine during the whole journey. I have to thank God for the smooth running of the Christmas drama in the evening party. I felt terrific for the morning sessions and I got a better understanding. I wish I could offer further support to such activities in the future.

Kwan:Every time I participate, I get different experiences. Thank God for giving us good weather when we took the children to the park, asking the rain to stop when we went to those outlying regions to visit as it rained all other days, giving me the chance to get along with different people so that I could learn to carry out God's virtues (gentleness, self-control, kindness ......)

Kin:This is the first time I visited the "Angel House" and had such an intimate contact with such special children. These children might need extra effort to adapt to their living but I deeply believed they could get satisfaction much more easier than us. Isn't that so ? This may be what our God wants to tell us : He treasures people whose hearts are pure. In the students' families, I have realized the reasons why I feel worried even though I am rich; feel unsatisfied even though my life is blessed and do not give thanks to our God even though my life runs so smoothly. I wish I could learn again the values of my life and check again the direction of my life from these children.
